Digitalisation, Digitisation and other "Virtualities"

Abstract

This article focuses on Russian terminology associated with the digital age. Specifically, the author defines the terms digitalizatsiya, tsifrovizatsiya and informatizatsiya, and explores their frequency of use based on ruscorpora.ru, synonymous expressions and different spellings (e.g. didzhitalizatsiya). Finally, it discusses the influence of digitalisation processes on language and communication.
