Abstract

This article presents the project Into Russian, a publicly accessible website provided by the Institute of Slavic Philology at the LMU Munich to learners for the Russian language. The website is based on various projects which were created by students under the teachers’ guidance: from first animations (at CEFR levels A0–A1) to short documentaries (at CEFR levels A2–C2), and the creation of a collection of literary texts (at CEFR levels A1–C2). The article also reflects on how Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 has affected this work and explain why, in our view, it is not possible to “stay clear of politics” in Russian language teaching in the current situation.
